Virtual Connect Ethernet Module will not obtain a Mgmt IP

I have 1 VCE module plugged into my C7000.

It has 1 ethernet cable plugged into it with the port setup for this connection as per VC Cookbook instructions for LACP etc.

I am unable to get a Mgmt IP for the VC module.

Without this I can't set anything further with VC.

DHCP is setup to offer an IP and the ethernet cable is live and fluked ok.
I've even tried to put an IP in manually using EBIPA but no joy.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tony

Hi,

Reboot Active OA or yank the VC module out/in
And You should use ebiba to giv address to module. NOTE it must be in the same subnet as the OA module.

Re: Virtual Connect Ethernet Module will not obtain a Mgmt IP

I have the same problem
I have a c7000 rack with 15 BL460c, and I started by upgrading the enclosure firmware to 2.12, then I upgraded all servers ilo firmware to 1.43, and then when i wanted to egt to the VCs I can get no connection.
I have 2 eth. VCs and 2 Fibre modules, but when assigning IPs to them it works flaky to say the least, and no matter what I do there is no response from the management URLs.

Best regards

Resetting the OA should fix the issue.
Note you its always recommended that you update the ILO FW first and then the OA.

Re: Virtual Connect Ethernet Module will not obtain a Mgmt IP

I have tries rebooting the OA, but it makes no difference.
Since yesterday I have removed the fibre modules, I have upgraded both Eth VCs by putting them in at c7000 with a VC that works, and upgraded the VC firmware to 1.21, but when I put them back, they don't respond at all.
The OA in the other c7000 has firmware 2.04, so I think the next stem must be to downgrade the new OA firmware from 2.12 to 2.04, because the only other explanation I can find is that the new c7000 must be faulty.
