Virtual Connect - how to use external port for host access?

I wish to connect a Proliant DL server to an external port of Virtual Connect module.

I have a hard time figuring out how that is configured.

We have two uplinks, one for server tagged traffic and one for network VLANs.

Re: Virtual Connect - how to use external port for host access?

that won't work...

uplink ports in VC are always going to be uplink ports. So if you create a VC network with 2 uplink ports and connect 1 to your upstream switch and the 2nd to a DL server, one of the 2 ports will always be in standby. That is VC's basic loop prevention mechanism: only 1 uplink or channel can be active for any given VC network.

You can define a VC network with 1 uplink port that you connect to the DL server and then you can have server profiles with connections to that network... however, there would be no external access to that network.

Thanks, that is also what I concluded.
