Re: accessing dvd on BL860 server blade
- enclosure's Onboard Administrator firmware
- blade's iLO/MP firmware
If the OS was installed using mid-2007 or later media release, it should have the necessary media support patches included. If you used an earlier media, some patching may be required.

Re: accessing dvd on BL860 server blade
Do you see any UNKNOWN entries in your ioscan?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: accessing dvd on BL860 server blade
Firmware Revisions:
iLO MP: T.02.17
BMC: 05.20
EFI: ROM A 05.67, ROM B 06.20
System Firmware: ROM A 01.01, ROM B 03.01, Boot ROM B
PDH: 50.07
UCIO: 03.0b
PRS: 00.08 UpSeqRev: 02, DownSeqRev: 05
OA Firmware: 2.10
And the OS was loaded onto the blade prior to the DVD being installed in the enclosure. The blade had been in a different enclosure (C7000) but we bought a C3000 with a DVD and put the blade into it. The ioscan doesn't show anything as UNCLAIMED.

Re: accessing dvd on BL860 server blade
unknown -1 0/0/2/0.0.1 UNCLAIMED UNKNOWN OO Device Driver
Could this be from the DVD in the C3000 enclosure? If so, I don't know how to find the driver to install in the kernel. Any help would be appreciated? The DVD came with the enclosure and I have no paperwork on it. I could try to pull it out if I need the model number, but that would take some time and effort, so if I can avoid that to resolve the problem, I would rather not pull it out.
