cables
Assuming I have an enclosure with 16 blades, each blade with an extra mezzanine adapter for networking, and each blade has an HBA (dual port), how many cables connect to the back?
I there there would be 4 VirtualConnect network modules, so that is 4 if 10GE is used or 32 if not.
I know there are 2 Virtual Connect fiber channel modules, so that is 16.
Plus the OA (2).
So are there a total of 50 if regular and 22 if Virtual Connect is used?
Thanks

Re: cables
The answer really is... as many as you want till you run out of ports....cos its "virtual" connect.
Minimum if you want redundancy.
Two SAN cables... one to each VC-SAN
Two RJ45 from the two OAs.
Two RJ45 from two of the VC modules. (Assuming you have stacking cables)
Any more is to cope with VLAN separation and bandwidth requirements.

Re: cables
So with every port cabled, maxed out, how many if I used 10g and how many if I used regular 1g links?
Thanks
