firmware flash on bl460c running ESX 3.5

What is the procedure for flashing the firmware on the blade including iLo with ESX 3.5 running on the host? I know I can do it via the Firmware Maintenance CD 8.2 but it does not have the newest version of the firmware for the bl460c. Should I hack the Maintenance CD and add the files or do you download the .scexe file and run it within the Esx console screen.

or you could download the rompaq and mount it to ILO virtual media.

I think there is even online BIOS updates for ESX

I have seen both files but how exactly do you do both? I assume you download the rompaq and mount it as virtual media through iLo is that correct?

yes ..there is a .iso image. mount it as cd image and boot from it.

Maintenance CD 8.2 is the lastest one altough the OA firmware matrix would not make you think so.

I just got done updating my BL460c's. Mount the CD using iLO and update your Blades. Note that you'll have to do the update procedure twice since the CD will start updating the iLO board first which interrupts the update process of the other hardware.

A newer firmware for the iLo is out 1.61, you can just download the .bin file and update direct through the iLo admin page.
