how to reboot and failover redundant onboard administrators

hi, there.

I have two onboard administrators with a c-class blade.
I'm just wondering how to reboot and/or failover redundant onboard administrators.

I'd like to know the exact menu/button names, so that I can tell other coworkers who are not familiar with the system.

Thank you,
Ashliee

Re: how to reboot and failover redundant onboard administrators

Hey.

To failover to the reduntant OA card you just login. Enclosure information > Enclosure Settings > Active to standby. There is only one big button there "Transistion Active to Standby"

if you just want to reboot the OA card the go
Enclosure information > Active Onboard Administrator. choose the Virtual buttons tab and press the "Reset" button

Re: how to reboot and failover redundant onboard administrators

Hi ashliee,

One other method is to use a telnet or ssh session to the OA, and run:

RESTART OA <1 or 2>

Using this you may be able to script a solution. I use a free program called TST10 for telnet connections and another free program called PLINK for ssh.

Good luck, and please assign points if these answers are helpful!
