install W2K3 SP1 to bl860c with ONE disk

Hi guys!
I cannot install w2k3 to server if bl860c has one disk. Setup create partition but next message is "cannot gain access to the disk".
If put second hard drive and make RAID on two disks, all is right. Windows setup seen volume and start instalation.

Why it cannot setup with only one disk?

LSI controller cannot create raid0 in one disk, I attemped it.

Hi,

this is because W2K3 does not have a driver build in to understand the LSI SAS controllers presentation of the SAS disk. If you create a raid1 then this emulates how a SCSI device presents himself and that W2K3 does understand.


W2K8 can install on a single disk since it thas the fix build in natively now.
