is the sb40c compatible with vmware esx 3.5?

is the sb40c storage blade compatible with vmware esx 3.5?
Is it on the vmware compatibility list?

I have been able to confirm V3 is compatible, but what about 3.5? Can anyone provide any URLs? Having trouble locating this information.

Re: is the sb40c compatible with vmware esx 3.5?

Hi ross,

Although VMware doesn't specifically list this storage blade on their compatibility chart, I believe it should work without issue.

From the quickspecs here:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12587_na/12587_na.HTML
it looks like this storage blade uses a standard PCI bus just as it would for the two SAS drives that would be installed in the server blade itself.

Also in these quickspecs is the section for part number AT459A:
HP StorageWorks SB40c and LeftHand P4000 VSA bundle
NOTE: Includes the SB40c Storage Blade and a single LeftHand P4000 VSA license. LeftHand VSA software is installed in a virtual machine on a VMware ESX host server adjacent to the SB40c.
NOTE: LeftHand P4000 VSA is supported on VMware ESX 3.0.2, 3.5 and ESX i version 3.5

You may also want to look at the User Guide for this system here:

Good luck!
