new san fabric shows as unavailable
I have connected a HP VC 8Gb 24-Port FC Module to a FC switch. The switch shows the port as enabled an on line to the VC-FC module. NPIV is enabled on the switch port.
The issue is that the VC-FC module shows the uplink port status as unavailable. I have found an article at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=115&prodSeriesId=3942029&prodTypeId=3709945&objectID=c01753060
stating the FC modules should be restarted. This is a production enclosure. Is there any way to fix this without restarting FC modules?

Re: new san fabric shows as unavailable
You have only one FC module ? If You have two there should not be disconnection in SAN traffic. Of course OS multipath/MPIO must be in place.

Restarted the active VC module, now working okay.
