I've got a BL460c set up to boot from SAN. I understand I can't use Smartstart in that configuration (it didn't work for me an a forum posting confirmed that), so I installed Windows 2008 Enterprise x64 directly from the OS DVD. No problems there.
I then applied Proliant Support Pack 8, and selected all 32 available options. It now appears to have all the HP tools and services that a Smartstart-set-up server would have. As I've always used Smartstart to very good effect, I may not know the difference if something was missing.
Is there anything else I should install to get the same completeness as Smartstart?
