p-class pass-through upgrade to GbE2

We are thinking of installing the GbE2 module and then just trunking a few ports to our core switch. However, one of our blade servers has one of its NICs directly connected to another device. The blade has one NIC on the LAN, and one on a separate subnet with the other device. Is it possible to have this configuration with the GbE2? Can I trunk several ports to the core switch on the LAN, and also designate a port for the separate subnet to the other device?

The GbE2 behaves as a plain switch by default. It has 2 ports that communicate it with the other GbE2, and 4 uplink ports to connect to the extenal switches.
You can configure VLANs to insolate the traffic of certain ports.
And you also can configure trunking of the uplink ports.

So I could create a VLAN for the other NIC on that particular blade, and connect my other device to one of the GbE2 ports so they would only communicate with each other? I'm pretty sure that is what you are saying.
