Perhaps you should have undertaken a simpler task in your IT endeavors such as installing a windows server? Or spend some time reading up on HP-UX servers and hardware and allow yourself more time when trying a server install?

If I were to guess I 'd say that you are on a job assignment and went to install an HP-UX server having ZERO prior experience. Is it our fault you ended up in this situation?

Re: struck at Installation.... little urgent plz

I have Installed HP-UX on the other servers 1001 times and never had this issue...

Now I am Installing this on a blade server which is my first time.. which dosen't mean I cannot do it...

Re: struck at Installation.... little urgent plz

one of the responses in one of your (many) other post regarding blade servers was:

"Please double-check your model number referenced in your title.

The BL680c has an x86-64 processor and will not run HP-UX.

The BL860c has an IA-64 processor and will run HP-UX."

You didn't mention the model number here, but the above matches what is in the compatibility guide linked in the previous post, as well as what the quickspecs of a 680c say.

Re: struck at Installation.... little urgent plz

Grayh,

OldSchool makes a good point about the hardware version.
Another thing I noticed is in your later comments:

...Blade supports....HPUX 11.23. It does not list 11.31 !!

Re: struck at Installation.... little urgent plz

It is a BL860c, right?

http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-4043/ch02s03.html

According to this it is supported with 11iv3.

There is also a BL680c blade, but this will unlikely load the ignite files at all ...

What I don't know so far is - what install source do you use?

(ignite server, DVD, virtual media ...)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: struck at Installation.... little urgent plz

When you added the boot option:

Did you remember to save it to NVRAM?

Re: struck at Installation.... little urgent plz

Yes I have saved it cos it prompted me to save it.
