Re: what is the relevance of 'C-Class'

hi,

C-class is a encloser for blade servers =>

proliant,integrity,non-stop....

its up to the customer what he need for infrastracture for start, if they prefer single server, or bue a blade.

Re: what is the relevance of 'C-Class'

Hi,

Thanks for the answer. However, my question is that what is the importance of C- Class ..(why not an A- Class or a B- Class) as in, are the server blades classified?

Re: what is the relevance of 'C-Class'

Hi,

C for compact...

As Michal told, IT can is a solution which can have server, storage, tape, network everythin in one box.

There are two kind of enclosures

1. C-3000
2. C-7000

Hi Sooraj,

Thanks for your reply.
However, I am unable to access the links.

Also, can u please point me to the documentation which talks about the expansion/ classification of 'C' in C- Class blades.

Thanks a lot

Re: what is the relevance of 'C-Class'

I am sure with the below information you should be able to guess the naming convention:

http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=E-Class&meta=&aq=f&oq=

Re: what is the relevance of 'C-Class'

First there was e-class, then p-class, then c-class.

Its just a naming/identification method for a group of compatible products.

So p-class blades are not phyisically compatible with c-class parts.

I know the DL in DL servers stands for Density Line, so as mentioned above I think -c-Class stands for Compact-Class.
