Building solution based on BladeSystems and Virtualization
Hi every:
I am proposing a solution based on BladeSystems and virtualization for clients who have asked me to consolidate its Data Center. My proposal is:
- (1) c7000 Enclosure with 16 ICE Licences, 6 redundant UPS, 10 fans
- (16) HP BL460cG6 X5550 servers (additionally plan to put another QuadCore X5550 processor and maximum RAM supported is 192GB I think)
However, in this CD there is a MSL6000 and EVA6100 in addition to the network infrastructure with Cisco and 3Com routers and switches.
My doubts come to the moment of acquiring the necessary networking technologies in the Enclosure to connect all servers to the SAN, the EVA and the MSL always bearing in mind that what is going to install VMWare vSphere 4 and virtualize all the servers physicists have today (about 100)
I am new to BladeSystems. Aware of your comments and thanks in advance

Re: Building solution based on BladeSystems and Virtualization
Just be sure to get the correct interconnect modules for the LAN and SAN devices that you need to connect to. look at the BladeSystem interconnects that are available.

This link will have all the different types of interface modules that you can choose.
