BEST PRACTICE TO UPGRADE CMS FROM WINDOWS 2003 (32bit) TO WINDOWS 2008 (64bit)

Peter was working with a customer on updating the Configuration Management System (CMS).

I have a customer that would like to upgrade their existing BLADE CMS HP Proliant Server that is currently running Windows 2003 Enterprise 32 bit SP2 to Windows 2008 Enterprise 64 bit.  The customer would like to also upgrade their ICM version and HP SIM to the latest 6.X versions at the time of the upgrade.

Can you migrate as an upgrade their exiting CMS Windows 2003 (32bit) server to Windows 2008 (64bit) or will it have to be a new installation?

Please advise.

The new CMS migration white paper is now available on the SIM documents page under the "How to Use " section  http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html
