Could an Onboard Administrator Update Generate a Losing Connection with Pass-Thru Modules?
Could an Onboard Administrator Update Generate a Losing Connection with Pass-Thru Modules?
Howdy!
Gianluca had a great question about OA updates and losing connectivity:
***************************
Hello Guys,
I need your feedback about an OA Firmware update.
My customer has installed OA Firmware 3.60 and I need to update it to version 4.40.
First question:
Do you know why version 4.40 is not available on HP.com at the moment?
There are 4 Ethernet Pass-Thru Modules in this enclosure (Firmware version 3.0.3 as reported in "update show").
Device Name Location Version New Version
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TRAY | BladeSystem c7000 Onboard Administrator Tray| | 1.7 | 1.7
LCD | BladeSystem c7000 Insight Display | 2.2.2 | 2.2.2
ICBAY | HP 1Gb Ethernet Pass-Thru Module for c-Class | 1A | 3.0.3 | 3.0.3
ICBAY | HP 1Gb Ethernet Pass-Thru Module for c-Class | 2A | 3.0.3 | 3.0.3
ICBAY | HP 1Gb Ethernet Pass-Thru Module for c-Class | 5A | 3.0.3 | 3.0.3
ICBAY | HP 1Gb Ethernet Pass-Thru Module for c-Class | 6A | 3.0.3 | 3.0.3
Second question:
When I upgrade OA firmware from 3.60 to 4.40, will the pass-thru Firmware be updated too?
Could this update generate a restart of these Pass-Thru Modules (losing connection on mezzanine card as a consequence)?
Thanks in advance

Radi was kind enough to provide the link to exactly what Gianluca needed:

Pass-Thru modules are updated by updating OA Firmware.
Cheers,
Radi
