Documentation of Software Update Manager (SUM) / System Insight Manager(SIM) integration
Steve had a question and was looking for documentation:
**************************
Hi,
I believe SUM is now integrated into SIM 6.x but I am struggling to find what ‘integrated’ means and where to find any documentation.
Does SIM 6.1b still use VCRM for Blade firmware deployment or can it fire up SUM directly. If the later, how does this work and where is it documented?
We have a site with ~100 C7000’s and 700 blades where SIM/SUM would seem to be the way forward.

Diane provided some of what Steve was looking for:

You can read the “HP BladeSystem Firmware Management Best Practices” and “HP BladeSystem ProLiant Firmware Management Best Practices Implementer Guide” for the details.

Are you using SUM via SIM? How is it working for you?
