Enclosure Base IP Address (EBIPA) lease time question
Meg asked an IP address question:
*********************
Are the enclosure IP address lease times user configurable? Can’t find anything in the gui.
*****************
Monty replied:
No – the EBIPA lease times are fixed at 4 minutes on the Onboard Administrator.
Hoa asked:
So what happen if the lease time extends beyond 4 minutes how the OAs deal with that?
Monty replied:
We are talking about the Onboard Administrator EBIPA feature which employs a DHCP service customized to issue an IP address to a bay enabled for EBIPA based on a specific bay DHCP request.
The OA EBIPA DHCP service has a fixed lease time. The DHCP clients request renewals in accordance with the DHCP RFC – typically beginning after the half-life of the lease.
