HPSUM unattended mode question - will the update stop and report a failure?

Joe had an upgrade question using HP SUM:

Anyone have any experience running the latest or later HPSUM in unattended mode during a failure? If SUM detected a failure with one of the updates in this mode – unattended and offline – what happens? I have a situation that “appears” it passed, but offline generates no logs to validate. How do we validate other than rebooting SUM in interactive mode (painful for a few hundred blades) and looking.

In offline mode, HPSUM will halt the installation if a failure occurs and turn the UID light on solid to indicate a failed condition.  If you remote console into the server, you’ll find HPSUM at the logs screen where you can easily review the logs and make a determination on whether to reboot or attempt to force install the failing component(s) again.

BTW, the logs from an offline installation are stored in the iLO Virtual Floppy until the iLO is reset and can be retrieved if the user has an iLO Advanced License.
