Looking for a faster way to update srver firmware!

Jean-Denis had a Integrated Lights-Out (ILO) question;

***********************

I’m currently looking at a way to speed up the time it takes for doing updates via ILO mounted iso.

Ken has some advice:

I find mounting the ISO on a thumdrive through the OA to be quicker than straight ILO Virtual Media.  If you have to go directly through the ILO, maybe mounting it from a ftp or web server using ILO scripting will be faster.

For mounting on the Onboard Administrator (OA), does it mean I have to physically connect a USB flash on OA USB port or not ?  Do you have some script samples available ?

Ken had some for Jean-Denis:

Yes. The Onboard Administrator ( O)A requires physical access to the OA USB port.  This works really well, especially for new enclosure deployment.

Here’s the script from the ILO samples on the HP web site.

Thanks a lot. I will try to use it for local enclosure updates .For remote enclosures I will try using ILO Virtual Media with FTP site

Any comments on what you do for these updates??
