Monitoring ESXi Web-based Enterprise Management (WBEM) vs. Agentless management

Question from Nick on management software for VMware:

*****************

Can anyone confirm if there any differences in what is monitored with ESXi if we use the iLO and AMS vs. a direct WBEM discovery and subscription?

I know there are differences in Windows/Linux land with the AMS vs. Agents, but I can’t find anything to confirm this for ESXi.
