Onboard Administrator (OA) only supports a maximum of 4 users question.

Chairutthana had an Onboard Administrator question:

Dear Expert,

From Onboard Administrator User Guide 3.2 mentions that:

“iLO Integration
HP BladeSystem Onboard Administrator integrates with each server blade's iLO and enables for
pass-through authentication from Onboard Administrator. Like the CLI,
HP BladeSystem Onboard
Administrator only supports a maximum of 4 users connected to the iLO at one time using pass-through
authentication
.
To connect to the server blade iLO port, click the iLO link. If the user account is set up on the
iLO and matches the user account on the Onboard Administrator, then the user will have access to the iLO
GUI which will be displayed in the same screen. “

If I understand correctly, OA doesn’t have a hard limit on number of sessions to Blade iLO. (just the 100Mb shared bandwidth)

Can anyone help clarify on above red sentence, what does the limit for 4 users connected to iLO at one time using pass-through authentication?

-          Does it mean the 5th user to iLO will required authentication manually or cannot access at all?

-          Or does it refer to Collaboration feature with iLO Advance for iLO2 which allow 4 (and iLO3 is 6 users)?

The BladeSystem Onboard Administrator manages a list of users that use OA Single Sign-On (SSO) to log into ProLiant and Integrity iLO – and the OA has limited the number of SSO users to a single iLO to 4 since OA v1.30.

This list is managed as a round-robin with the 5th user bumping off the oldest SSO user.

The OA SSO list does not manage any users that directly log into the iLO.

There is no dependency on the iLO license type with the OA SSO accounts.
