Will the Onboard Administrator (OA) warn about a failed disk in blade?
Richard has an OA question:
****************
Should I expect the OA to display the fact that there is a failed internal disk in a blade?
Currently, on a customer site, there is a faulted disk in a BL460cG6. The iLO has no entry in the IML about it, the iLO shows the disk as faulted in the System Information-Drive Status window in the iLO Web Administration pages. The OA System Status is all clear.
OA 3.32
BL460cg6 05/05/2011
iLO2 2.05
*****************
From David:
***************
No, you need the management agents to do this, and OA has no visibility to it. iLO2 can only indirectly infer drive status by snooping on the drive backplane; it has not direct access to drives.

Re: Will the Onboard Administrator (OA) warn about a failed disk in blade?
Hallo guys
What OS are you running? I have not experienced this on blades running ESX or ESXi
