Turning off Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) on Gbe2c L2/3 uplinks ports
Danny had a blade swtich question:
**************************
Hi All,
My customer would like to disable spanning tree on GbE2c L2/3 switches.
From what I've seen GbE2c has 128 Spanning Tree Group (STG).
If customer wants to disable STP on uplinks ports, what exactly does he needs to do :
- Disable all 128 STGs numbers ? If yes, is there a single command line to accomplish that ?
- Disable each STG number on each of the uplinks ports? that would take enormous number of commands…
I'm certain there's a global way to accomplish that task with a single command.
Does anyone know how to do it with AOS/ISCLI ?

From Rich:

From the CLI you would do a /c/l2/stp then select off (off - Globally turn Spanning Tree OFF). That should do it; if they have configured RSTP/MSTP I would also set them to off to be consistent. In ISCLI mode it would be no spanning-tree stp enable. If the customer has configured RSTP/MSRT you would want to do a /c/l2/mrst off, from cli, or no spanning-tree mrst enable from ISCLI mode and don’t forget to apply and save after the changes.

Have you tried this? Let us know how it works?
