BL460c G6 X5570 to X5670 processor upgrade support question
John had a question about doing processor upgrades for the BL460c G6 blades:
********************************************************************************************************************
I have an HPC client with many BL460cG6 blades deployed with X5570 processors. They would like to know if HP supports an in blade upgrade to the X5670 processor? Is this as simple as ordering new X5670 processors? I don’t see any notes in the quickspec on this topic.

Dan the Blade Man had an answer:

Yes, that in-box upgrade is supported.
They’ll probably need to upgrade BIOS to the latest. (As always, upgrade BIOS before installing new CPUs).
