Blade BL460c Gen8 upgrade CPU from E5-2620 to E5-2687W v2
Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade CPU on BL460c Gen8 with Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2687W v2 (3.40 GHz / 8-core).
Currently it is working in blade with Part number 735151-B21, but in other blade servers I have only black screen after powering on. Part numbers of these not working blades with Xeon E5-2620 are:
666158-B21
641016R-B21
666162-B21
666162-B21
666159-B21
735151-B21
After change of CPU, blades are not able to boot, after powering on console is displaying black screen all the time.
Working Gen8 blade firmware state:

Intelligent Platform Abstraction Data 1.55
Intelligent Provisioning 1.50.130
Power Management Controller Firmware 3.3

Redundant System ROM I31 02/10/2014
Server Platform Services (SPS) Firmware 2.1.7.E7.4
Smart Array P220i Controller Embedded 8.32
System Programmable Logic Device Version 0x13
System ROM I31 05/24/2019
System ROM Bootblock 03/05/2013
On non-working blade versions for Server Platform , System ROM Bootblock and System Programmable Logic Device are different.
Firmware and Drivers (NOT Working)

System Programmable Logic Device Version 0x10
System ROM I31 05/24/2019
System ROM Bootblock 03/11/2012
Where is possible to find drivers/fw for SPS (2.1.7.E7.4), System ROM Bootblock (03/05/2013) and System Programmable Logic Device (Version 0x13) in order to manage those blades to work with E5-2687W?
On the official HPE support site, I wasn't able to find these drivers.
What else is recommended in this CPU upgrade?
Thanks

Re: Blade BL460c Gen8 upgrade CPU from E5-2620 to E5-2687W v2
Hello,
You may refer to the HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8 Server's QuickSpecs for a list of supported processors. The processor mentioned appears not to be listed therein.

Re: Blade BL460c Gen8 upgrade CPU from E5-2620 to E5-2687W v2
Hi Alexander-Heid,
Thank you for the Post.
What we see is the Processor E5-2687W is supported on few Gen9 Servers.
Would request you to refer the Quickspecs shared above to find the supported Processors and to use the same on the Blade Servers.
You may find the supported Processors here as well : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03241047
Thank you
RamKS
