Boot Device ID above 16 not recognized

trying to get an HP BL465 G6 - w/Emulex LPe1105-HP 4Gb FC HBA to boot from EMC Symm2000.  BIOS recognizes SAN - device ID.  However - if device ID is above 16 (ex. 2D versus 00F) the HBA loses the setting and defaults back to 00.

 

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - just realized I left out one thing - if I do set the device ID to anything below 16 - it works as it should.
