Check Power Profile Setting while running various VMware ESXi Operating Systems

Dan had a customer question:

**************

Customer asked me this question today and I was not sure there was a way to do it.

They want to audit their (running) ESXi Severs (580 G7 mostly) to see what the Power Profile settings are currently set to.

This is the one where you set things like Dynamic Power, Static High Power mode (which disables C1E states) etc.

I don’t think the iLO3 displays this kind of information and at first I suggested CONREP but then he told me it was ESXi.

Anyone have a solution?

You can get this information from the iLO.  You can use the GET_POWER_CAP and/or GET_HOST_POWER_SAVER_STATUS.  You can get more info from the iLO3 CLI and Scripting Guide (http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02774508/c02774508.pdf)
