Hardware alerts question - VMware mibs vs HP SIM or OpenManage

Hi,

We have several blade servers that are running VMware ESX 5.1. We want to receive hardware alerts by using snmp traps.

We have two choices - snmp traps from the VMware mibs that are loaded in OMU or use HPSIM (or OpenManage).

My question is this: The VMware mibs have traps for Processor, Memory, etc. Will these traps give detailed information that HPSIM or OpenManage will ? ex. If there is a memory error will the Vmware traps show what DIMM it is, what blade it occured on, etc.?

Thank you

As far as I know ESXi doesn't support SNMP, use WBEM.

I don't have hardware problems with my ESXi's on HP ProLiant, but I think that detailed information about errors will be.
