Memory Error threshold exceeded error

Hi,

We are getting "Corrected Memory Error threshold exceeded ((Processor 1, Memory Module 5))" on one of our HP 465c-G7 blade server.

Can anyone help us in this & why we are getting this error

Thanks

Partha

Re: Memory Error threshold exceeded error

hi,

You recieve this error, because the dimm 5 on CPU1 has a corrected error. Replace the dimm and the message should not occure anymore.

Thanks

Re: Memory Error threshold exceeded error

In very simple words, a bit inside the memory flipped and this was corrected. If this occurs too often (whatever this means), you will receive this message.

Hope this helps!

Re: Memory Error threshold exceeded error

Hi There,

That's the pre-failure warning. However, I would suggest to check for known issues and system bios version first.

For more info on memory protection technology, please refer the following HP White Paper

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02878598/c02878598.pdf

If system bios is latest and we don't have any known issue for specific module / server etc. you may consider this DIMM for replacement.

Hope this helps,
