Microsoft Network Load Balancing ( NLB) and HP teaming utility unicast question.
Chris had a customer question in NIC teaming:
**************
Customer wants to know if the HP Nic teaming Utility supports Unicast with Microsoft Network Load Balancing and how to set it up.
They did see something about Multicast. I do not know enough about what they are asking to talk intelligently about it.
These are Bl460c G7 running MS Server 2008 x32.
If the HP teaming utility does not support NLB Unicast is it possible to delete the team and assign one Nic from each VC to the same subnet and configure NLB using both Nics that way they would have high availability.
Like we have to do with the MS Software iSCSI Initiator since NC does not support teaming with it.

Info from Dan:

Or this: http://www.aidanfinn.com/?p=9054
And this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278431
The way I read that is you go into NCU and change the MAC Address of the NIC Team to the NLB cluster unicast MAC address.
I stumbled across the first article while looking for something completely different a while back but thought the link was a good read.
