Same MAC Addresses on two BL460cG6 blades
Larry had a customer issue:
*********************
I have a client telling me that they are seeing the same set of MAC addresses on two BL460G6 blades that are in different chassis. The “use static default MAC addresses” box is checked, but the MACs reported in the OA do not match the MACs reported from the BIOS prompt.
********************
Ken had some questions and some input:
************************
Those aren’t Virtual Connect managed MAC addresses. What is the OS? How were they deployed. In many OSes you can override the MAC address in the driver settings. For example, someone could have gone into advanced settings for the NIC, set the MAC, then cloned the OS disk image.
