Video Error on 2 of my 4 BL460c G1 Server blades
Hello, I have a strange Video error on 2 of my 4 bl460c G1 server blades.
The servers itself works fine, and I can run RDP to it so I haven’t barded about this until now, when I need to use the Smartstart CD and can’t get picture on the monitors.
Same results on the ilo interface and a hooked up monitor directly to the blade. And this is from start even in “bios”/ Start mode so it is not a windows error.
Some sort of vertical lines and you can imagine the mouse pointer as a black square.
I attach a picture it’s easier than trying to describe the graphic error I get.
Latest firmware on the blade:
ProLiant BL460c G1
System ROM I15 05/02/2011
iLO2 2.12 Jul 16 2012
Power Management Controller 3.4
Already tried a different bay.
Anyone seen this before? Or do I need to call for hardware service?
Regards
Magnus Pettersson

Re: Video Error on 2 of my 4 BL460c G1 Server blades
hi,
You can try with an update of the graphic card and if the issue remains after the update, i will suggest to replace the systembaord.
Thanks
regards,

Re: Video Error on 2 of my 4 BL460c G1 Server blades
Graphic card driver already upgraded to latest.
I guess I will have to call support for a system board change then…
If now one else have seen this error?

Problem solved!
The solution was to change the system boards.

Re: Video Error on 2 of my 4 BL460c G1 Server blades
I have this exact issue on three of my BL465c G5 blades.
Quite unfortunate, since a replacement system board is ~$1400, and that's with sending back the original board.
