pcie 3.0 mezzanine in pcie 2.0 mezzanine slot?
Hi,
Is the new g8 mezzanine compatible with the old G6/G7? I have a few FDR infiniband cards over from a project I'd like to run with our older blades if possible.

Unfortunately, those newer FDR cards are listed as specifically only compatible with Gen8 and higher in the HP Quickspecs for the cards:

Re: pcie 3.0 mezzanine in pcie 2.0 mezzanine slot?
Doesn't matter. There is a physical incompatibility wall between G7 and Gen8.
The Mezz connector changes physical size meaning newer cards will not work in older servers and older cards will not work in newer servers.
