P2000 connected to SAS switch - Yes/No ?
Robert had a P2000 question:
**********************
All, I thought the P2000 was supported by the Blade SAS switch, but just came across this in the P2000 quickspec.
Can someone confirm if it is supported or not ?
The P2000 G3 SAS is the follow-on product to the MSA2000sa G2, adding the latest 6 Gb SAS technology to the four host ports per controller. The P2000 G3 SAS array is designed for directly attaching up to four dual-path or eight single path rack servers. SAS array support for BladeSystems will continue to come from the MSA2000sa G2.
***********************
Ramu provided some clarification:
*********************
Hi Robert
This is because P2000G3 does not support 3Gb SAS. The blade SAS switch and p700 SAS controller are only 3Gb and hence it is not supported.
Also you can notice that P2000G3 supports only 6Gb SAS HBA (HP SC08e 6Gb SAS HBA) in the rack servers as well.
*************
Hope that helps. Any other input?

Re: P2000 connected to SAS switch - Yes/No ?
But if P2000 G3 SAS doesn't support 3GB SAS why on SPOC SC08Ge is shows as supported adapter that is only 3GB?
My question:
Will P2000 G3 SAS work with blades in future or HP doesn't have plans to support this configuration?
We already have blade with 3Gb SAS Switch and P2000 G3 SAS :(
Thank you.

Re: P2000 connected to SAS switch - Yes/No ?
Hello George,
Would you be able to use this below configuration.
HP C7000 blade chassis , the blade chassis have the below interconnects to connect HP P2000 G3 SAS .
AJ865A HP 3Gb SAS Switch BladeSystem Dual Pack 1
507925-B21 HP Smart Array P700M/256 ISS Cntrlr 9
Does this a supportable configuration...?
We have the existing working configuration with MSA2000 SAS G2, now we want to add the new P2000 G3 SAS 6G to this existing configuration. Will work or not..?
Please reply back to this query.
Many thanks in Advance..
