10GB igxebe card - if we change port speed from 10GB to 1 GB -any difference in performance

Hi,

We have a C7000 enclosure with blades BL870c i2 and BL 860c i2.

On these servers, we  were having some network packet drops.  We were advised to change the port speed  from 10GB to 1GB .

The NIC card is of type 10GB igxebe.

So will it make any difference if we change the bandwidth from 10GB to 1 GB  where the total uplink speed is 4GB.

Please advise.

Regards,

San

Did you try upgrading the firmware on the card and check the settings to the switches?

i don't see the point why you want to keep an Integrity blade in 1G speed even though on board it's a 10G NIC. what's the reason they want you to keep it down to 1G?

Did you talk with Integrity HP support to see which NIC firmware they recommend?
