4Gb VC SAN module connectivity to Netapp array

Steve had a question regarding connecting a VC-FC module directly to a SAN.

Does anyone know if the Virtual Connect 4Gb FC SAN modules support FC Loop mode? Customer is planning to connect a NetApp array directly to the VC module, and claims that NetApp will support any configuration where their array is the target. NetApps support site has a delay between registration and access, so I’m stuck at the moment.

One of the things about Virtual Connect and the SAN part has been consistent - you cannot attach storage directly to a VC-FC module. The VC-FC module must be connected to a SAN switch.
