Configuration settings of Fibre Channel Adapters in Servers

Damian was looking to get some module info without shutting down the system.

Is it possible to determine the settings of an FC Adapter without rebooting? i.e. BIOS version, Configuration Settings.

Specifically I want to know if the HBA is configured Point-to-Point, Fixed Speed (and what speed), BIOS Version (also Enabled/Disabled)... I think that’s it.  From memory, I had to reboot the server to get into the Boot Settings to determine the HBA settings... want to know if this is still the case.

If it’s a Qlogic HBA, SANsurfer will give you what you are looking for.  I haven’t use the

Emulex utility.

Any other suggestions? How would you do this?
