Disabling ports on 4 port mezz nic

Meg had a question on how to disble unused ports in a Mezzanine Ethernet card:

I’ve looked through the scripting guide and the user manual for the HP NC364m Quad Port 1GbE BL-c Adapter and cannot find any information on how you would disable  ports on this card.  I don’t believe the individual ports show up in RBSU with options to disable.

Anyone know how?

Mike had an answer for Windows for Meg:

For Windows If you install the Network Configuration Utility, it comes with SetLACState.exe and you can use that to disable the Local Area Connection.

Comments? Any answers for other operating systems?
