Firmware discrepancies between Virtual Connect Release notes
Hello all,
I'm having difficulty in using a 409513-B21 4Gb FC VC interconnect (x2) with Virtual Connect Manager 3.61 running on 399593-B21 1/10Gb VC ethernet interconnects
Neither of the two 4Gb FC interconnects receive an ip address (I'm using EBIPA) and although the hardware seems to show no problems, management and ip addressing does
I'm running OA version 4.22 and can see the 4Gb interconnects, its just that they are not receving ip addresses and hence I have no way of managing them
Is running VC 3.61 the problem?
I've attached some screenshots to hopefully make it clearer
Thanks
Details below concerning VC firmware release notes seem to conflict with each other
Taken from Virtual Connect Manager 4.10 release notes Virtual Connect 4.10 is supported on the following interconnect modules: • HP VC Flex-10/10D Module • HP VC FlexFabric 10Gb/24-port Module • HP VC Flex-10 10Gb Enet Module • HP VC 4Gb Fibre Channel Module for BladeSystem c-Class (enhanced NPIV) • HP VC 8Gb 20-Port FC Module • HP VC 8Gb 24-Port FC Module IMPORTANT: Beginning with VC 3.70, the HP 1/10Gb VC Enet Module (399593-B22) and the HP 1/10Gb-F VC Enet Module (447047-B21) are no longer supported. Beginning with VC 4.10,
the HP 4Gb VC-FC Module (409513-B21) is no longer supported.
Virtual Connect 3.61 is supported on the following interconnect modules: • HP VC FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module • HP VC Flex-10 10Gb Enet Module • HP 1/10Gb VC Enet Module (399593-B22 – Discontinued on December 31, 2009) • HP 1/10Gb-F VC Enet Module (447047-B21 – Discontinued on March 31, 2013) • HP VC 4Gb FC Module (409513-B22 – End of Life announced in December, 2011) • HP VC 8Gb 20-Port FC Module • HP VC 8Gb 24-Port FC Module IMPORTANT: The HP 1/10Gb VC Enet Module (399593-B22) and the HP 1/10Gb-F VC Enet
Module (447047-B21) will no longer be supported after the VC 3.61 release.
The details below (taken from VC 3.61 release notes) conflict with details from above…. Virtual Connect 3.61 is supported on the following interconnect modules: • HP VC FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module • HP VC Flex-10 10Gb Enet Module • HP 1/10Gb VC Enet Module (399593-B22 – Discontinued on December 31, 2009) • HP 1/10Gb-F VC Enet Module (447047-B21 – Discontinued on March 31, 2013) • HP VC 4Gb FC Module (409513-B22 – End of Life announced in December, 2011) • HP VC 8Gb 20-Port FC Module • HP VC 8Gb 24-Port FC Module IMPORTANT: The HP 1/10Gb VC Enet Module (399593-B22) and the HP 1/10Gb-F VC Enet Module (447047-B21) will no longer be supported after the VC 3.60 release.
