FlexConnect 554FLB and Virtual Connect FlexFabric 10Gb/24 BOOT FROM FC SAN

Hi all,

We have a P2000 FC SAN attached to the Virtual Connect via 8Gb Fibre modules.

There connected and logged on, and I have created a SAN Zone and Server Profile to allow the Blades 554FLB adapter access to the external fibre ports.

BUT I can't seem to get the blade to see the storage presented via Fibre, basically I need to get the blade to boot from the san using fibre.

Can someone please help with setting the FlexConnect 554FLB booting from SAN using fibre acorss the Virtual Connect?

Any ideas, advice or help is welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Re: FlexConnect 554FLB and Virtual Connect FlexFabric 10Gb/24 BOOT FROM FC SAN

Are you sure its logged on properly?

I was not aware the P2000 FC had an inbuilt FC Switch.

FlexFabric does not run any Fabric Services that FC requires (except for Direct Connect to 3PAR at the moment)

BTW, did you really spell Qualcomm wrong? :)

If you are int he San Diego office feel free to send me a PM and I can give you some contact names for your account in HP PreSales who can help with Virtual Connect.  Derek in QGov or S. Siragusa (not sure what team) are both good internal resources who know VC as well.

FF 554FLB appears as 2 ports of 10GB. is partitioning automatic?

We have connect a FF interconnect module in the C7000 and the server blades have the FlexFabric 554FLB. So will the 2 physical ports automatically appear as 8 in the OS manual partitioning has to be done in VCM?

Thanks
