How many time is a VC uplink started during firmware update?
Customer question from Gary:
*************
Customer has VC 3.51 and will update to 4.10. During the upgrade process are the uplinks reset only during reboot of the VC module or will the network team see several port changes?
**************
Words from Mark:
**************
Yes, only when the modules are Reset to load new firmware.
In case someone responds differently… here is past behavior.
Prior to VC 3.60, the fw installer had code to toggle the stacking links before the FW update began because of a potential checkpoint issue. That code was removed in VC 3.60.
A stacking link toggle even with a millisecond down/up could trigger smartlink and downlink down/up on downlinks, but not uplinks.
