SolutionHow about the other interconnects?
You need a network VC module to control a FC VC module and of course fc mezzanine cards to use the module.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to connect to HP VC 8Gb FC module?
We have: half size blades with fc mezzanine cards in them, cisco 3020 switch in bay #1 and cisco 3020 switch in bay #2 (they work), HP VC 8Gb 24-Port FC Module in bay #5 (port mapping is OK). I tried to connect HP VC 8Gb 24-Port FC Module to my fc to brocade factory, but I don't see wwn of blades
I found in documentation:
The HP Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-Port Fibre Channel Module requires a Virtual Connect Ethernet Module installed in the system for management and administration
But I don't know that it and as looks, and distributors didn't tell words about it!

Re: How to connect to HP VC 8Gb FC module?
Consider the FC module as an extension to network VC modules, without it cannot work.
You may use a brocade switch module instead.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: How to connect to HP VC 8Gb FC module?
Could you give me the specific reference to the module which needs to be bought in addition? URL? Full name? Price?
Thank you

Re: How to connect to HP VC 8Gb FC module?
I don't understand logic. Why this module can't independently work? Why to provide FC for c7000 I shall buy except it the module? It and itself costs much. I shall buy any module from the section Converged & Ethernet Networking?
It is better to buy Brocade 8Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class?

Re: How to connect to HP VC 8Gb FC module?
The VC FC module is an extension to the ethernet modules, without you have no possibility to manage it. It is an extension, not a standalone module.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to connect to HP VC 8Gb FC module?
>>It is better to buy Brocade 8Gb SAN Switch for HP BladeSystem c-Class?
Depends on your needs.
>> It is a standalone module?
yes, you need a pair of modules for redundancy.
>> And it will work with mezzanine?
yes
Hope this helps!
