Question on Multiple Networks Virtual Connect setting on BL680 G5

Steve had a question for older blades and Virtual Connect:

Hello all,

I’m working on a site where they have a G5 connected to a VC Flex-10 in Bay 1 and 2. I know there is no flex 10 LOM’s on the G5 , that is another story and this is currently what I have to work with. The configuration I have is an A/A VC setup. I have 4 port 1Gb LACP on Bay1 and  Bay 2, with a SUS created on both sides with 4 VLANS assigned to each SUS.

Is it supported for the G5 to be assigned Multiple Networks in the Server profile on  LOM port 1 through 4, present them to a Windows 2008 host, and use NCU to team and assign VLANS to create vnics for the VLANS we selected in the profile? So in our case we would have 2 teams, Ports 1 and 2, then 3 and 4.

I just want to confirm that we can assign Multiple Networks to a non flex-10 NIC.

Ed chimed in:

Hi Steve,

Yes, you can assign multiple networks. The issue we run into with FlexNic is you can’t assign multiple networks to the same LOM with Flex Nics. Given that you would assign them to different onboard LOMs this configuration is ok.

Have fun out there!

Any other suggestions for Steve?
