SAN connect from C7000

Danzi was looking to SAN working with an Integrity server:

We are experiencing issue for the connection between NetApp  storage and C7000. I already implemented following steps:

  1. Setup zoning between HPUX blade and NetApp storage, which gave the privilege to the server to communicate with NetApp
  2. Assign the server in question as a “initiator” on NetApp filer in order to allocate LUNs on it
  3. Allocate 100G LUN to this server

But the ioscan only shows the scsi control but not the LUN assigned. All the steps above are normal procedure before assigning LUNs to s a server, the only different between the new C7000 and old C7000 (which works fine with NetApp) is, the dev file is different for the HBA ( /dev/fclp for old C7000, /dev/fcd for new C7000), I guess it is because they are using different SAN module,  but not sure if this is the issue.

Check out the Virtual Connect guide for Integrity.

I used this with a customer back in January and they are booting from SAN and all is well.
