VC Fibre Channel module information
We purchased our first c Class and are waiting on VC Ethernet and FC modules to come in. There is a wealth of information on the Ethernet modules but not a lot that I've seen on how the FC modules work and how to set the up. Our SAN guys are concerned that the modules will not recognize Cisco VSAN's and we'll have to run physical fibre connections for each VSAN from the VC modules. Does anybody have detailed information on the FC modules other than the HP spec's? Thanks for your time, Ron

I found some information in the VC user guide. HP also replied that VSAN's should work with the VC modules. We'll see.

I believe as long as your Cisco MDS firmware is at least 3.0, and you have NPIV enabled you'll be fine.

Thanks.. luckily we're still sandboxing the c Classes. Our SAN guys are upgrading to SAN-OS v3.x this month which provides NPIV capability.
