VC Firmware Upgrade Failed in HP 1/10Gb VC-Enet Modules
Hi,
I am unable to activate the firmware upgrade on two HP 1/10Gb VC-Enet Modules.
Current version is 1.24, new version 3.51
I have run the vcsu -a command using the -oe manual option.
The process stops at Activating firmware Step 3 of 3 - 10% for an hour then exits with Status "Update Failed" on both modules.
This is the output from the log file (just the end bit):
[Thu Nov 15 20:56:26 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:4191] : checkCheckPoint SUCCESS
[Thu Nov 15 20:56:26 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:4209] : Check Point is NOT VALID
[Thu Nov 15 20:56:26 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:3071] : Checkpoint Validation Failed
[Thu Nov 15 20:57:26 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:3073] : Retrying again
[Thu Nov 15 20:57:28 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:4191] : checkCheckPoint SUCCESS
[Thu Nov 15 20:57:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:4209] : Check Point is NOT VALID
[Thu Nov 15 20:57:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:3071] : Checkpoint Validation Failed
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:3073] : Retrying again
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuCore.cpp:3147] : Checkpointing has failed even after waiting for 60 minutes
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuProgress.cpp:363] : VCM Configuration still not in sync!!!
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuProgress.cpp:364] : Aborting further activations as this would destroy the VC Domain configuration.
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuProgress.cpp:177] : VC Enet Activation Failed
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:29 2012] (47356)[VcsuUpdate.cpp:652] : Firmware update failed on one or more modules
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:33 2012] (21492)[GetUpdateStatus.cpp:234] : [SGH809F7TJ:1] Update Status: update_result= 1, updateThreadStatus= 50, updateState= 5
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:33 2012] (21492)[GetUpdateStatus.cpp:234] : [SGH809F7TJ:2] Update Status: update_result= 1, updateThreadStatus= 50, updateState= 5
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:34 2012] (21492)[VcsuInit.cpp:884] : vcsuCleanUp::Could not logout(User) of OA
[Thu Nov 15 20:58:34 2012] (21492)[VcsuLib.cpp:90] : Cleanup failed for one or more reasons
As you can see upgrade failed because the checkpoint validation failed.
After this process the Virtual Connect webpage is down (not responding). When I reset the primary module the webpage comes back but it contantly says "Checkpoint Pending or Not Valid". This can be confirmed with vcsu-a healthcheck, which says "Domain Configuration: Not In Sync"
When I reset the Subordinate module the error clears and everything is perfect.
I try to do the upgrade again, and it fails in exactly the same way with the same effect afterwards.
Help please!
