VCEM - MAC/WWN address ranges
Keith has a customer VCEM question:
***************
Got the following from a customer. Any suggestions or whitepapers/best practices I can point them to?
We are standing up 2 VCEM environments (within local environment where VCEM already exists). We need to understand the a bit deeper on the possibilities and workarounds to make sure duplicate VCEM address do not exists.
Thanks!

The User Guide talks about setting up exclusion ranges. Here are the ranges for MACs and WWNs split up in 8192 chunks. They would need to determine which VCEM server will use which range and exclude the other server’s range. Note the current profiles being used if any.
VCEM Defined MAC Range MAC Start MAC End
VCEM Defined 00-21-5A-9B-00-00 00-21-5A-9C-FF-FF
VCEM Defined WWN Range WWN Start WWN End
VCEM Defined 50:01:43:80:02:A3:00:00 50:01:43:80:02:A4:FF:FF

Re: VCEM - MAC/WWN address ranges
Some more info from Hiro:
*****************
From VCEM v7.0, you can configure Sub-Ranges so that you can use multiple VCEM in the same environment.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12860_div/12860_div.html
- VCEM Sub-Ranges: Installing multiple instances of VCEM, such as a multi-CMS environment or a HP IO Federated CMS
Hope this helps.
