Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM) Question
Mike had a customer question:
******************
I just received this question from a customer – any help/direction would be appreciated.
“Is there any way to change from Logical Serial Numbers back to Factory Default serial numbers once an enclosure has been imported into its own VC Domain Group in VCEM?”
***************
Comments and input:
******************
From Fred:
This can’t be changed once the group has been created. The VCEM User Guide section on Creating a VC Domain Group mentions this.
Input from Dave:
I have not tried this in VCEM, but you can use ‘Factory’ defaults in VCM while creating a profile. You would select the ‘Advanced’ button at the top of the screen. It would not change it globally, but it can be changed for the prfofile.
Reply from Fred:
You’re correct. It’s possible to select “factory-default” values when creating individual profiles when the domain group has been configured to use logical serial numbers. As with the domain group, once the selection has been made for the profile, it’s not possible to change it after the profile has been created.
