Virtual Connect FlexFabric and 10Gb SR SFP+ transceivers
Taha had a question on transcievers:
******************
Hi All,
Can someone please let me know if the 10Gb SR SFP+ (455883-B21) connected to a Cisco 1GB SFP+ will be auto-negotiate down to 1Gb?
Customer currently has 1Gb SFP’s on his Cisco switch and he will be upgrading to 10 Gb down the line. He wants to know if the 10Gb SR SFP+ on VC FlexFabric will be able to auto-negotiate down to 1Gb if 10Gb SFP’s are installed in ports X5-X8?

Vincent replied to Taha:

Hi Taha,
No, 10Gb Ethernet does not auto-negotiate, it’s 10Gb only. You would need a 1Gb SFP on the VC side (of the same type as the Cisco side, hopefully SX since that’s all we support on the VC side) until the Cisco side is upgraded.
